Will you leave Guild Wars for Aion?
Aion is close for official release in a couple months and the big question for me...will I leave Guild Wars for Aion? Sure, I've only played Guild Wars for the whole summer so far, and I know I will be playing more...but Aion is sure looking good. The only setback is the monthly fee, which is supposedly 15 dollars a month. However, for those without a credit card, the option of time cards will be available
As for me, I'm definitely going to look into Aion when it releases in a couple of months. Heck, I might even broaden my MMORPG needs and look at other mmorpgs coming out or is already out *cough* WoW
Until then, I'm going to spend my meaningless hours playing Guild Wars...along with future purchases of the other Guild Wars games, as I only have Prophecies+EotN.

Oh, the thought has crossed my mind more then once. Aion is the best looking MMO I've ever seen. I'm definaltly going to try it out even though it might not work on my piece of junk pc.

The only thing that I'm not jumping for joy over Aion is the 15 dollar a month fee. Yes, I know that they will be able to improve the game in ways that a free game could not, but it seems.....weird(to me at least) to pay for one single game every month in addition to the cost of buying it.
I have my beta key and am pumped for the weekend to be able to play it, but it's going to have to be really good for me to stick to my preorder.

What's good about Aion though is that the minutes that you spend are only used while you're actually on the game unlike most mmorpgs.

That sounds interesting, need to go find out more about that.
brb googling
Well, I'm only finding stuff about a monthly fee, nothing about minutes used or anything. That's probably because I have no idea what I'm really looking for though....

He's probably talking about the Asian business model. America and Europe will be getting the monthly fee model, I believe.

I was going to play Aion with an IRL friend of mine, but we decided not to for two, key reasons;
1. We don't have the money nor can our parents afford to waste fifteen dollars a month on a video game.
and
2. I would rather play Guild Wars right now and work on my titles. However, if they release a ten hour trial for Aion, I'll play to try it out.

I havn't play GW in a long time, I did have a look at Aion but it's not my cup of tea. I might have a go at the old republic when it comes out.

Yes, I will "leave Guild Wars". Because Aion is much better in every way.

Ho, ho. Not bloody likely. How long it was before WoW gave out free trials? Even WAR-failure had to wait over 3 months.
Besides, in mid-August Aion has an Open Beta, so you might get a chance to test the game. I already bought it online and I'm waiting with my key till release.

What lag experience?
I have no lags on EU beta, with so many people that some of my Legion had to wait in a queue.

The question is more "will I play Aion", and it's gonna take a lot thus far to get me to do so. I'll see how it goes in the states after a few months, give a bit of time for the endgame to settle in, then decide.

pay by time is only in china and korea and i think japon is using the same thing
how it works i syou buy 100 tickets for 14 cents each ticket=75 seconds or game play which come out to 14 cents every 2 hours 20 min i believe if i am doing my math right.
with eu/na/aussie it will be pay by month other payment option willl b e released, the other payment options is not 100% knowng yet
guesses are the follow
1 month= 15 dollars 3 months you get a certain % off
6 months you get a bigger % off 12 months the biggr % off
and ther is talk abotu lifetime payment option most games that do this its about 199 for it which isnt that bad.
for those saying paying a monthy is bad you have some other thigns to look at
1 pay per month games have meaningful updates for free
2 alot less lag on the servers(yeah sur i barely get lag on guilfdwars sometimes i get over 200milsec ping) but the sever on aion where more stable i dont have me gettign good ping and the other 20 people im playing with are not complaining about lag all the time they get the same ping
3when somethign is going wrong the tech support cares a bit more and works on yoru issue a bit faster
4 and lastreason is the bots and powersellers yes there is bots in every online game that willl never go away unless the police step in and laws get passed like china is and has been starting to do to fine aand give jail time for botters. but aion seems to care about stopping botters more then guildwars does.
they have released botter lists of people they have banned in china and korea now some weeks its over 50,ooo accounts and so on each month.
so before you can say ewww monthy is junk you need to go give a game a chance that does a monthy fee, and sure some monthy fee games are junk. but all free to play games do have alot more bad things in them.
sure i love guildwars i do kno w they work very hard to giev us updates and so on but they just dont have the team size a pay per month game has.
some of the staff of guildwars work a hell of alot harder then i have ever seen willing working over time on weekends giving up alot of sleep and family time for us. but they just dont have the man power a ptp has
and for my answer YES I AM LEAVING GW FOR AION i will however still make apearances on gw during server down time on aion for miantiance...
